The Jr Geo Trek is closed.

Greetings,

The time has come to end the event and release the ducks. To all who continue to play the Jr Geo Trek, there are many wonderful small pocket parks in Pacific and I will continue to maintain the caches that have survived the past year. Some have been eliminated due to location and recent construction. A great change over in city government has effected the Parks and Community programs.

For all who participated  – We thank you and we hope you enjoyed ~ Exploring Pacific Washington.

The next Jr Geo Trek will be in a new location…. With a new token of an award and we’re thinking of making it a weekend event rather than a year long trek……..

Keep in touch and we’ll let you know what’s next…..

Nature Explore Jr Geo Trek Awards….

I’ve been watching the log postings and we’re getting close to 100 finds on the caches in the Nature Explore Jr Geo Trek. ! We’re hunting {ordering} ducks and getting the certificate paper ready…… If you haven’t logged in to our blog and posted your completion to the trek, please do so soon! We want to make sure we’ve printed everyone’s geo name correct and not forgotten anyone in the awarding :o )

Explore Pacific Washington ~ There were originally 9 caches in the Jr Geo Trek, one has been deactivated due to bees repeatedly making a hive. There was an additional bonus cache placed at another of Pacific’s parks during Earth Day 2012…. If you happen to ‘find’ this cache and log it, we will consider this the 9th find.

There is an additional bonus ~ Geo Challenge – Which way to Mt Rainier?

Complete the Jr Geo Trek, bonus cache and the Challenge, bragg about it in our blog and get ready for the awards event! Coming soon…..

Malibu Barbie’s Jr Geo Adventure tale…

Malibu Barbie’s Jr Geo Adventure tale…

We took our Granddaughter Lavendar out today, to complete her Nature Explore Jr Geo Trek. It was a nice day out, not too hot not too cold. It wasn’t raining either and that made it really nice. We started out at the furthest point in one direction and worked our way back towards the house. Then we took the dogs for the middle section and spent about an hour on a ‘dog walk’ geo trek journey. Then it was off to ‘complete the mission’. Her personal enjoyment and exploration was to ‘collect’ little flowers along the way.  It was fun to see what kind of little flowers we would find. In our ‘exploration’ of trees, we found this really cool one, that looked like an ‘army tree’ as you’ll see from the picture. The bark actually looks ‘camo’. Pretty cool! WE also explored ‘mud’ and the river bank as well as many areas of the ‘wetlands’ that are next to many of the little parks in Pacific, WA. There were a lot of birds singing and we even seen the black bird with red wings, just like one that we seen in Stanley Park, when we were Geocaching the Park in BC Canada! Pretty awesome day! Papa and myself just couldn’t resist playing with Lav when we got to the last few parks. It was just such a wonderful day and the cache loads were great!
